Elixir of Envy

Aim

To create a sharp and citrusy cocktail full of flavour tied together with the smooth caramelised pineapple flavours.

Apparatus

Shaker
Hawthorne Strainer
Fine Mesh Strainer
Muddler
Vintage Wine Glass

Materials

  • 40ml Pineapple Elixir
  • 20ml Grand Marnier
  • 10ml Ricard Pastis
  • 10ml Freshly Squeezed Lime Juice
  • 10ml Freshly Squeezed Lemon Juice
  • 10ml Egg White
  • 2 dashes Orange Bitters
  • 2 Fresh Mint Leaves
  • 1 Star Anise to garnish
  • 1.35oz Pineapple Elixir
  • 0.70z Grand Marnier
  • 0.35oz Ricard Pastis
  • 0.35oz Freshly Squeezed Lime Juice
  • 0.35oz Freshly Squeezed Lemon Juice
  • 0.35oz Egg White
  • 2 dashes Orange Bitters
  • 2 Fresh Mint Leaves
  • 1 Star Anise to garnish

Method

  1. Place the mint leaves on the bottom of the shaker and gently press
  2. Put the remaining ingredients into the shaker
  3. Dry shake everything
  4. Remove the mint leaves and add ice
  5. Shake then double strain
  6. Garnish with the Star Anise and serve

Results

A bomb of sharp citrus notes of orange, lemon and lime with lovely caramelised pineapple tying it together.
